Flat pieces are rolled through a slab roller and then finished by hand.How do you fire your work? I often fire my raku work in an outdoor kiln that I personally built. A post burn for reduction is in a can to get the smoky/flashy look unique in raku. Check out my video presentation.How is yor horsehair pieces made? The clippings of horse hair is burned into the work while the work is still hot. Feathers could also be burned into the work at the same time.How does the work get flash? Special glazes are made that have copper as an ingredient, Copper oxides cause the surface to get flashy or rainbow in the post fire burn.What is your favorite subject? My work often has faces on the work. I also like texture and experimental surprises. I have a large, variety of interests.Do you have your own studio? Yes, my art studio is in my home my kiln in the garage. Because of lower cost, I can keep prices down.Do you have plans for future work?
